Our Beginnings
Momentum Academics was founded by Peter Carlino, a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a B.A. in math, physics, and architecture, and a Masters degree in landscape architecture. For over 30 years, he has been a highly sought-after tutor with students from the most prestigious schools in New York City. He formed Momentum Academics to accommodate the growing volume of students seeking the variety and quality of services his tutoring business offers.
Peter has been instrumental and highly successful in helping students prepare for – and excel in – standardized tests and academic work. As both a masterful teacher and motivator who can make the complicated look simple, his unique approach to working one-on-one with each student has inspired confidence and trust in even the most anxious students. He has a special knack for challenging the most driven students and the integrity, expertise, and empathy to delight in helping academically challenged students achieve great success. Peter puts students at ease by investing in them as individuals and catering to their different academic needs. He has a solid track record of helping students raise grades, tests scores, and overall academic performance.
